Photography and Passion

Photography has been a living passion in the lives of many. A sheer driving force in the backbone of those always striving for perfection in bringing a reproduction of something existing or created to life in the form of a visual art piece. An ever evolving art form and a rapidly expanding medium ensures the serious enthusiast and professional a growing and endless array of knowledge and expertise to create images that have the potential to evoke emotion which in turn makes the art limitless. Just as this art form evolves and recreates itself, so does CWPhotography.

Copyright - ADS/Gypsy - Shoot in Dullstroom

We did a recent trip to dullstroom on a shoot for Gypsy caravans. Being limited with time and different weather to what we had hoped for, a lot of rain, winter cold winds one minute and really warm take your coat off kind of weather the next. We had lots of fun and ate really good.

The shoot took place in Elandskloof, if you are into fly fishing or just relaxing with a good book while others fish , I would recommend staying over and also eating at the restaurant with Chef Celeste.

Here are a few shots of the shoot and then two other random photos of a beautiful late sunset, almost to late, but one of the only times the sun broke through and then the passing sheep 'follow the heard'. Then I could also not post this without mentioning 'Vossie' (named by my little girl, Jaycee), This ostrich is most probably the friendliest bird I have ever encountered. Very lovable and always curious.

Thanks to the guys from Ads and Jergens/Gypsy. Tim, Geoff, Francois and Nico.

It took me a day to work this image together and I finaly have it done and am now sharing it in here. Jewelery is always challenging and I've been doing it for 3 years now. It's kind of fullfilling when you sit back and look at the final product on screen. I love Photoshop!

I took this photo on the way back home from a weekend away with the family in 2006.

I only recently stitched it together. This photo is made of three different images, a right, centre and left image was Photoshoped together to create this Panorama of Milly's view over the lake.

Milly's Mall is located about 10km from Waterfall - Boven and 240km from Pretoria.

Morne and Stephanie Wedding 25 October 08

Congratulations you guys, you are an awesome couple. May your days ahead be filled with great things and loads of happiness, remember, all you need is each other!
These are just a few photos taken with the couple right after the ceremony.

Taken at Plumari Africa game lodge on a stormy afternoon. Removed three red ticks from my hand and shoe after the bush mission, but I think it was worth it for sure, you guys look great!

Albert and Maria's special day

This is just a quick post of a wedding I did yesterday with an old school friend and his lovely wife. Congrats you two, love and laughter for the rest of your lives together! This is just one of the posts from this wedding, the last photo we took before we were off, it was a beatifull mid day wedding, clear skies and then in true Gauteng fashion, a storm started gathering force. This shot was taken at 18:28 just before the rain at the Valley lodge in Magaliesburg.

Thank you Albert & Maria for a lovely day!
You know what they say about the rain on your wedding day, it brings copious amounts of luck and good fortune!

Copyright - JAFFAE - CWphotography

Over the past few weeks I have been busy with mini portfolios for a Finishing school, Jaffae.

This image is literally the last image taken for the assignment of the last girl at the very end of the shoot. Was about 18:30 when the image was taken. Shot with a canon 5D at 640ISO, 1/25th sec at F5.6 using one light source and the twilight as a backdrop. The single light source is a 430EX canon speedlight off camera, bouncing of a white wall. No post production other than dropping in my name in Photoshop.

I love this photo. I will be posting more of these soon. I photographed over 75 portfolios over a period of 8 days. Two looks per girl, various poses, hard work and lots of fun and laughs!

Reci in Clarens - Copyright - CWPhotography

I was recently clearing up space on an old hard drive and stumbled upon a few images that I thought I'd put up in here. This was a reci out in Clarens. Beatiful area, wide open spaces and beautiful skies. I think I will post some more soon, I took quite a bit in the day and a half we were there.

Tansey - Miss S.A. 07'

Here is one of the first posts from a shoot Jolandie and I did for Land Rover out towards Bela Bela area, Mabalingwe. I will post some more real soon, it's all still work in progress. This was a whole lot of fun and hard work!

As Promised, here are a few more photos before I rush off to an appointment. There are a few of Tansey in Land Rover Gear and then one of Oliver, he's not a proffesional model, but he was on this particular day. I really like this one of Tansey leaning against the tree, but that's just me.

Miss S.A. & Miss S.A. Teen 2006 - copyright - Dreamnails

Miss S.A. '06' - Megan Coleman
Miss S.A. teen '06' - Zizo Beda
Jolandie (Wife, partner and fellow photographer) and I had great fun doing this shoot. Shot at a studio in Fourways for the duration of a day, we had a whole list of shots to get through and enjoyed every second of it. The first shot of the day included a doggie. Now there is one subject that's tricky to photograph. She was still a puppy, so not really trained yet, shame, was also not used to all the white plus the constant flashing, but after a short break outside she came back and ended up a star in the making. Here is a pic...

The next few images to follow are of Megan who is really photogenic and also a true proffesional and easy to work with. She was very accomodating and understanding with the list of things we needed to do, she stayed well after her booking time to get the job done. Thanks Megan.!

Now Zizo is something else. I met Zizo when I was doing photographs for a function at the JSE. She did a talk in front of about a 150 people or so and she absolutely blew everyone away. This is a teenager with Big dreams and absolutely has her head screwed on the right way, what an inspiration and so down to earth. She has a captivating spirit and is lovely in every aspect. We had loads of fun with her as you will see below and I think her personality really reflects well in these photos. Thanks Zizo!

Also a special thanks to Dreamnails and especialy to Ashleigh for the oppertunity!

Letterhead

This is a shot I did for Jenna Clifford. It took alot of trial and error to get it right. The water needed to be dark and so the container needed to be dark. Getting reflection in the water was also tricky. Then hours in post production to paste all the letters together which I shot individually to controll the reflection on the aliminium plates. The letters are made from perspex and aliminium plates which I had to ballance in the water using wire and a glue gun. This was a nice challenge and I am quite happy with the results...But you decide for yourself.
