Photography and Passion

Photography has been a living passion in the lives of many. A sheer driving force in the backbone of those always striving for perfection in bringing a reproduction of something existing or created to life in the form of a visual art piece. An ever evolving art form and a rapidly expanding medium ensures the serious enthusiast and professional a growing and endless array of knowledge and expertise to create images that have the potential to evoke emotion which in turn makes the art limitless. Just as this art form evolves and recreates itself, so does CWPhotography.

Ultimate dedication - Copyright Armand - photos - Chris Wessels

Armand is a Personal trainer and a straight forward nice guy. Spent a Sunday afternoon with him today to get some shots of him in peak shape. 10 weeks of hard training and a dedication to his body that I have the utmost respect for, 'cause this takes self control and commitment. below are a few of my stand-out shots of the day, will post more in the weeks to come.

Thanks Armand & Paul Dormand (styling) of Fiore hair design for a great experience and oppertunity.

Last ray in Lamberts Bay - Copyright Chris Wessels - Photo

A quick post from our last holiday on the West coast of Southern Africa. Hopefully I will have some free time to myself to post some more scenic photos I took during our time there. Wish I was back there, such a nice place. This image is taken on one of Lambert Bay's beaches, all along the coast line you'll find paths that will lead you to some of the most amazing sights and around each bend you will discover a different looking beach, whether it is covered in mussel shells or white beach sand. You will collect the most amazing sea shells and the sea here is very wild, unforgiving and beyond cold. Both beautiful and serene.

Full steam ahead. Copyright - Chris Wessels - photos - Chris Wessels

These images were taken about a year ago at a friends son's birthday party. This man has a passion for miniature steam locomotives and it is quite amazing how many people share this interest and get together at this mini train station park in Florida, Johannesburg, South Africa, over the weekends. Full steam ahead!

Jack's 160th - Copyright Jack Daniel's S.A. and Traffic integrated - Photos - Chris Wessels

I was recently involved by Traffic integrated and Jack Daniels to follow the convoy of about 40 Harley's and the Jack Daniel's Mobile experience, 22 meter pantechnicon truck, around the city of Johannesburg.
Dino from Jack Daniel's was the stunt driver as I was hanging out of the window of the backseat of a little red rental number to get some shots of this awesome spectacle. The reason behind this awesome cruise around the city was to celebrate Jack's 160th birthday and to aid in the launch of a limited addition Jet Black Jack Daniel's birthday addition bottle.
Thanks to Dino from Jack Daniel's and Elizabeth from Traffic integrated for involving me in this auspicious occasion!

Mall interiors for Primall Media - copyright - Primall media - photos - Chris Wessels

I have been hanging around malls lately, taking me back to my teenage years but this time equipped with a sturdy tripod and a Canon 5D MKII. This is an ongoing project that I am enjoying all aspects of. From looking for interesting angles to just watching people and also the different ways they behave around someone with a camera. Permission was easier this time with the guys from Primall media behind the organisation, because normally it is quite a hassle getting past the 40 odd security staff with the licence to harass the Innocent photographer. Here are a few examples of what came to be.
Thanks Darren and Lee from Primall Media for this opportunity.
