Mining photography for Anglogold Ashanti at their Mponeng mine - Copyright - Anglogold Ashanti

Ever wondered what it looks like deep underground in a gold mine?

Jolandie and I had the awesome experience to shoot for AngloGold Ashanti at their Mponeng mine, which is the deepest mine in the world!
It extends over 4 kilometers below the surface and is one of the most substantial gold mines in the world. 
These images where shot in the training level which is at about the 83rd level, but the conditions are pretty similar, although down in the actual working mine, it's allot darker, wetter and tougher. 
Permission was granted for this level only, as interruptions to production and safety concerns could be kept to a minimum.

From conception, organization, permissions, outsourcing make-up artists and the entire production, Jolandie and myself create all stock type images like these, seen below, for our clients. We love these shoots and the creative process behind it all. Shot on locations all over Jo'burg and about, this is what fuels our passion.
Locally, there is a shortage of "South African" looking stock photography and this is a preview of what we did for PWC on one of many of their projects for this specific reason, getting South African stock images.

One of the most glorious "I am a Photographer" moments I have had up to date was having the opportunity to photograph the production stills for "Bloedbroers" which is a South African History Thriller/Drama for television series by Deon Opperman.
