Ever wondered what it looks like deep underground in a gold mine?

Jolandie and I had the awesome experience to shoot for AngloGold Ashanti at their Mponeng mine, which is the deepest mine in the world!
It extends over 4 kilometers below the surface and is one of the most substantial gold mines in the world. 
These images where shot in the training level which is at about the 83rd level, but the conditions are pretty similar, although down in the actual working mine, it's allot darker, wetter and tougher. 
Permission was granted for this level only, as interruptions to production and safety concerns could be kept to a minimum.

I did this shoot for PWC a few months back where we went all over South Africa to various locations and industries to photograph actual PWC staff in locations and at clients that they are involved in. This is but a small selection of the results of the trip. These images are utilized for marketing and internal usages.

John Robbie for Discovery Health - Photography - Chris Wessels

Had been given the privilege today to meet and photograph radio personality, John Robbie from 702, thanks to a good friend and fellow photographer, Des Ingham Brown. I had a 45min session with him. He is a very passionate man and highly intellectual, I listen to his morning show more often than not and must admit, I am a huge fan. At the end of the session when we said our goodbye's he had this to say, "I don't mean to piss in your pocket, but that was the most relaxed photo shoot I have ever had" BIG complement coming from him, if you know him.

Did this shoot for PWC last year for a Media Publication in Kaalfontein/Thembisa, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Street life there is something else, beautiful vibe and the friendliest, help full people.
